In 2021, we will be fundraising to open an additional outdoor space for survivors to reflect and begin their journey to healing instead of having our traditional gala. It is our goal that this space would be a place where families can begin to make meaning of the trauma that has happened to them due to domestic or sexual violence.
We are consulting with a master gardener, conservationist and the Chair of the Monarch Initiative of Tulsa on initial planning for the garden, which will be a certified Monarch way station. We are proud to share that we have chosen to use only native Oklahoma plants to ensure the space is sustainable.
Together, we can make something beautiful that will provide comfort and peace to survivors for years to come. Please see the initial rendering of the garden below.
