Abusive Partner Intervention (BIP/APIP)

The Abusive Partner Intervention Program (APIP) is a group program for adults who have used abusive or controlling behavior in relationships. This program helps people take responsibility for their actions, understand how their behavior hurt others, and learn healthier ways of relating. It used to be called the Batterers Intervention Program (BIP).

APIP is not anger management. Rather, it focuses on how power, control, and abusive behavior affect partners and families. The goal is to stop violence and abuse, keep people safe, and support real change

What APIP Does

  • Helps people learn about abusive behavior and power and control patterns
  • Teaches respectful communication and noncontrolling choices
  • Encourages accountability for actions
  • Builds skills for healthy relationships without abuse
  • Focuses on safety for victims, children, and families

The program is 52 sessions, with group sessions once per week. It’s certified under Oklahoma state standards and often used as a part of court orders or probation.

APIP is about changing harmful behavior and learning safer, respectful ways to be in relationships.

This program costs $95 for the intake assessment and $25 per group session.
